A Life on the Line

I am writing this blog to call all prayer warriors into action!  As you may have read, we got a new resident on Tuesday.  She came to us via Love Works.  Well, last night we went to my sister's house for Thanksgiving dinner and I was noticing that Kristie's color just didn't look right.  I asked my brother-in-law (who is a doctor) if he thought she looked bad and he did.  So, I left with Kristie and took her straight to Methodist Olive Branch to the ER.

She has been homeless and fighting a rough lifestyle for quite some time and thankfully Love Works intercepted her.  They are like the only place in Mississippi to help shelter the homeless.  They cannot take care of pregnant women and, thankfully, God had our paths cross a year or so ago and they knew about us when Kristie came to them.  Kim, with Love Works, said that we are the only shelter in Mississippi for homeless, pregnant women.  God is opening Breakthrough for Women soon in Olive Branch and that will be another resource, but we are realizing how desperately we need more resources for the needy in DeSoto County and Mississippi in general!  I am very familiar with many resources in Memphis, but our Mississippi girls don't qualify for some of those resources!  Anyway, let's wake up, Mississippi and get more ministries in place to minister to our neighbors in need!!!

Back to the prayer request...Kristie is now being transported to Methodist Germantown because she needs to be seen by some specialists and needs to be there in case they have to do surgery.  Folks, her life and the life of her baby are in danger and they need our prayers!  She is an orphan.  She lost both parents to cancer and she is basically all alone.  She has not had proper heath care or prenatal care so I am sure her little body is pretty weak.  We just need to pray for her, the baby, the doctors, and all who will be taking care of her.  Please also pray for me and those involved in Mid-South Love Home who are ministering to her and for Kim and all those involved in Love Works who are ministering to her.  There is a whole lot of uncertainty and we just all need your blanket of prayer covering us, our families, our homes, and this precious young lady.
