Saying "Good-bye" is hard!

Well, we moved our little JP back into her apartment this week!  It has been quite the week as she has had her eyes open to some very devastating ways that she has been lied to and taken advantage of while she was away.  It was painful for her and very tough to watch.  We love this girl like she is one of our own and I just cried with her!  HOWEVER, God proved Himself to be faithful in her life once again!  Isn't He so sweet like that?!?!  She is getting to experience His love, protection, and providence in ways that will impact her and her relationship with Him forever...so for that, we are so very grateful!!

I don't want to go into all the details because it is too much and I don't want this blog to ever be able to be traced back to her because she has chosen to remain anonymous.  But, she went to get her lights turned on and had to pay $1,200!!!  She has been working so hard to save up so she can take care of herself and her children and this was a very unexpected expense!  The person who had stayed at her place while she was gone was "stealing" electricity and she got hammered with the fines!  We crossed that bump in the road and then she found out more and more ways that this person had lied and not taken good care of her place!  We had MANY wonderful people provide things for her apartment and we have been working for a couple of weeks to set it up and surprise her with it all ready when she went back yesterday.  Well, many of the smaller items had been taken and I suppose either pawned for money or traded for cigarettes, alcohol, or drugs.  We really don't know.  So, because of the electric bill and her realizing that things haven't been taken care of, she decided to move back on Thursday instead of Friday.  We got there Thursday loaded down and there was a note from MLGW that they couldn't connect the meter because of damage that had been done to the meter box.  We had to have an electrician come and reconnect the box before the meter could be set.  So, we knew she wouldn't stay the night there but we at least wanted to unload all her things.  BUT...the one who had lived there wouldn't answer calls or texts so we couldn't get into the apartment!  Even the landlord had given up her key when that person called and said they lost theirs.  Well, we tried to take off the knob but couldn't so we had a locksmith on the way.  About that time, her brother showed up with a friend and they "broke in" through a window and shoved our other resident through so she could come open the door.  It was quite the ordeal but at least we finally got it and she was able to see her place for the first time via phone flashlights...because it was dark by this point!!!!  We did what we could in the dark and replaced the doorknobs so no one would have a key to her apartment anymore!  We also worked on that window so no one could break in that way anymore!  So, we came back home.

Friday was scheduled to be move in day but much had to be done.  An electrician had to come, complete the work, and then we had to call MLGW to see if they could work us in to set her meter.  After much prayer, work, phone calls, and lots of people working together, everything fell into place and she was able to stay at her apartment!!!!  After six months of being gone, she was so very excited!!!!

It was sad saying good-bye to her because we will miss her living with us.  She, like the other girls who have lived here, became part of our family.  She knows we are her family and she knows we are forever here for her.  She will continue to work at the same Chick-fil-A as us and we are so grateful for that!  She wrote me a very sweet note telling me what Mid-South Love Home and the Kimberlins mean to her and it was precious!  She has had more life change than anyone thus far and God is so real to her!  Sherri put over 1,100 Christian songs on an ipod for her and she was so excited.  We told her that the demons have to flee at the name of Jesus so she plans to play that music constantly.  She is also talking about what she will say when people ask her about the music.  She is so ready to be a light in that dark world!  Every time we go to work I pray with her in the car.  She told me that when her friends drive her to work, she is going to pray in the car with them.  That blessed my heart!!!

Thank you to all of you who have prayed for her throughout her stay at the Love Home.  Thank you to everyone who has given financially so this ministry can impact the lives of young women and their babies.  Know that your gifts are making a life-altering impact on these girls that God sends to us!!!  Please continue to pray for her as God prompts your heart!
